  • The National Debt Awareness Center found a number of "strange" items in the 2011 Federal Budget proposal President Obama presented to Congress.

One in particular shows a huge decrease in the proposed budget for the Treasury Department. Its budget includes the interest payments on the national debt, and the IRS. So how could this decrease possibly occur? Interest rates have not dropped from 2009 to 2010 to 2011; and the debt has not gone down.

But there is also a huge increase in the Department of Labor budget, completely offsetting the reduction in the Treasury's budget. And just what is it that the federal government is doing in this Department of Labor? What is our money being used for? Somehow I keep thinking ... labor unions are getting our money.

Also, the Department of Education budget is almost double that from 2010 actual expenditure. There are other budget increases. Look at the bar chart on the NDAC web site. And I keep thinking ... Teacher's Unions.

The "Historical Tables", adjunct to the Budget Proposal, published by the Office of Management and Budget, is accessible on the NDAC web site. The table shows the details, but one can only infer the budget shuffle, based on the increases and decreases.

UPDATE: 21 August 2010: Earlier this month we reported the Social Security Administration (SSA) reported that more was being spent out to beneficiaries than was coming in to the Trust Fund. In this report, the SSA points out that the Trust Fund is backed by the "full faith and credit of the U. S. Government". We now know what that means: more taxes to fund bailouts.

  • As far as Bush ruining the economy ... Just remember that the first 6 years of Bush were some of the greatest economically for the US. The last 2 years of Bush presidency (after Democrats won the majority in the House and Senate) were some of our worst. Coincidence? You decide.

  • If our government leaders really, really want to fix the economy, they need to pass the Fair Tax Act (HR25, S296). Click on the banner just below.

  • Our national debt is growing and is a huge burden on our budget. Our federal income tax system is a dissaster. There are bills in Congress to fix the federal tax system. They would get rid of all federal income taxes, abolish the IRS, and repeal 16th Amendment. These bills will replace the federal income tax system with a national retail sales tax. Instead of the business taxes being hidden, you'd be able see the federal tax on your cash register receipt. The amount of the tax will be about the same as the hidden tax burden currently embedded in the price of what you buy, but doesn't now show on the cash register ticket. Big thing about it, you won't have to calculate your income tax any more, and you'll get 100% of you paycheck. The bills are HR25 and S296. Get 'em passed! Here is some great information about the bills and how you can help get them passed.

  • Tax Awareness! Most Americans have no idea how much tax they pay. Did you know that everything you buy, about 25-30% of the cost is taxes? If you rent a home, did you realize that embedded in your rent is the cost of property tax? And not just the tax itself, but the cost of figuring out that tax; not just on the products or the property, but for all the employees needed to produce the product or manage the property. Producers and owners must cover all their costs, taxes are part of cost. Learn more about it. You are being ripped off, and you don't even know it. And not just you. It's not your kids and grandkids; we're all paying for it now! The Fair Taxers and the TEA partyers have it right/correct. The real problem is you don't even know it! If you did, you'd be pushing and screaming like crazy. Visit http://www.federalbudget.com and see if you can justify your oblivion.

Lobbyists, Soros Group Helped White House Rebuke Green Jobs Report
    Source: PajamasMedia.com, 11Marh2010
Emails recently obtained under the Freedom of Information Act Ñ seen here for the first time Ñ show how political influence and lobbyists are shaping Obama administration policy and public relations. The emails show that the Department of Energy and the EPA coordinated their response to a damning Spanish report on Ògreen jobsÓ with wind industry lobbyists and the Center for American Progress, the progressive think tank founded by John Podesta and funded by George Soros. The report from SpainÕs Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Ñ which was the subject of a George Will column in the Washington Post on June 25, 2009 Ñ showed each Ògreen jobÓ that had been added by SpainÕs aggressive wind energy program cost Spain nearly $800,000 and resulted in the loss of 2.2 jobs elsewhere in the economy. Eight times, Obama had publicly referred to SpainÕs program as being a model for a US wind energy program. The 900 pages of emails, obtained by the Competitive Enterprise InstituteÕs Christopher C. Horner, show staff members from the DoEÕs National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the EPA developing a response to the report. They also show them coordinating the response with the Center for American Progress, plus the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council Ñ two wind industry lobbyist groups. What the emails show runs contrary to statements made to Congress by the Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoi Ñ the Obama administration response to the Spanish report was in fact instigated at the request of the AWEA. It was then written with the close cooperation of the AWEA, the Center for American Progress, and the Union of Concerned Scientists. The emails concentrate on the political implications of the Spanish study Ñ and how to discredit it. There also appears to have been significant pressure to publish an internal report from the NREL as a DoE report Ñ bypassing the internal review and publication procedures Ñ and to do so quickly. The emails suggest that wind industry lobbyists and political organizations have significant behind-the-scenes influence on scientific reports from the Obama administration. This contradicts ObamaÕs insistence that his administration would get the politics out of science. It also calls into question the objectivity and quality of the information they provided to Congress.
